Peace, Love and Art of the Filmore

“The Art of The Fillmore” collection is a series of vintage concert posters commissioned by the late great concert promoter Bill Graham (1931-1991). The window display stopped me dead in my tracks last week while out-and-about with a friend on Chestnut Street here in San Francisco. The collection is currently on display and now available at Photograph & Frame and is positively dizzying.

WARNING:

Side effects may include light-headiness, hallucinations, visual overload, feelings of nostalgia and overall grooviness. Not to be missed.

Stop Me Before I Buy Again

I'm not a big online shopper, but I came across these limited edition giclee prints

by helen dardik and couldn't resist.

I love her spirit and design sensibilities.

Pimp Your Poster

Exhibit Poster is eye candy for art directors, designers or anyone who just loves print.

Designers and collectors submit their posters and Exhibit features them on their site.

Some of the posters are available for sale, while others are part of private collections.

It's instantaneous inspiration celebrating a rapidly vanishing art form.

Creative Heartburn

This is a pretty cool idea from Pepcid AC.

They've created a "Dream Visualizer" that lets you turn your dreams into animated shorts that can be shared with friends.

Just type in your dream and let the visualizer do the rest.

(My dream was me chasing bacon, which upset my dog, then a vulture flew off with it.)

I may need to get heartburn more often.

Typekit: A change for the better

I LOVE Seth Godin's blog..and this is a very interesting article forwarded to me from Diane Moe .

The article links to Typekit, a company who offers font subscription packages for those of us who are tired of the handful of default fonts used on the web.

Typekit works in all modern browsers on Mac, Windows, and Linux, as well as on iOS4 and Android devices; Typekit does not support Windows 2000 or Mac OS 10.3 and earlier.

Their fonts are browser friendly and you can preview how the font looks in various browsers.

Not 100% sure how it works ...but it's pretty cool.
